ECIS allows you to optimize the display of your query results with the Personalized relevance ranking, the Expand view and the Export functionality.

Results are displayed in incoming order in the result area, that is to say, as information sources are collected by ECIS. To sort your results by relevance, you must use the score link. To view the results that you have sorted, you must use the binocular icon (Expand view), and to export your results in different formats, the Export link or the plus icon in the Expand view.

Personalized relevance ranking

You can personalize the relevance ranking using the profile of the query. This functionality allows you to sort results according to a set of positive or negative results. For instance, if the results of your query display 30 occurences on the related subject, you can display the closest results at the top of the result area. To display the closest results of your query at the top of the list, you must click the plus sign, or the minus sign, to move the results to the bottom of the list.

You can use the Personalized relevance ranking functionality to refine your query results.

To refine the results of your query, follow the procedure below:

  1. Click the Profile icon (next to the score link)
    The Personalized relevance ranking window is displayed
  2. Select a profile key in the columns displaying a plus or a minus sign
    Clicking on the plus sign will select all the terms (keys).
  3. The profile key is displayed in the search area
    The search is active
    The results of the refined query are displayed
     

Expand view

You can use the Expand view to display all results including all attributes. The Expand view functionality also allows you to sort results according to single attributes: title, author, collection, date, selection, source, and score. This list can be customized by the administrator of the ECIS system.

To access the Expand view, you must click the binocular icon in the upper right corner of the result area.
 

Export

You can use the export functionality to save your query results in the following formats: html, xml, pdf, and Excel. Additional formats can be added by the administrator.

To export your query results, follow the procedure below:

  1. Click the binocular icon in the upper right corner of the results page
    The Expand view is displayed
  2. Select the results that you want to export
  3. Click the Export icon to generate the report
    The Export window is displayed
  4. Select the report type that you want to generate
  5. Click OK
     

Snapshot

The snapshot functionality allows you to extract key sentences in the document to create an intelligent snapshot of the source file.
